“There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Ever since the snow and ice hit Charlotte, I have been taking more walks around my neighborhood on the weekends. When I take my walks, I bring my camera with me. It has been fun taking some street photography shots lately. I’m not sure how everyone else feels about it, but I enjoy it. I think I enjoy it because it gives me an opportunity to capture something different. I have seen the same places multiple times, so capturing photos of the people there makes it different. During this last walk I took, I stopped at the Land of Thousand Hills Coffee Shop near my house. While I was waiting on my iced coffee, I grabbed my camera and started snapping photos inside. I used my lens from Retropia while I was out. The lens is light, compact, and it takes great photos. It’s made from recycled disposable camera lens. The lens naturally gives the shot a retro look. It functions great in bright, outdoor light.

As I capture these photos, I wonder what everyone is talking about. I captured these photos on Valentines Day, so hopefully they are having a good time. Most of the time I am taking photos, just about everyone is on their phone. I am guilty of this too, but I make an effort while I am out with others. When I look back at these photos, I think about a story that could be told. Take a look at these shots, and let me know in the comments what story you would tell about them.

Coffee shops are always an interesting place for people watching.
