Something Warm

“So the lover must struggle for words.” – T. S. Eliot

My last two posts have featured cold weather. That was the highlight of end of January and beginning of February. We had two massive winter storms hit my area back to back. The first one covered the city in the sheet of ice. That one was no fun. I took some great photos, and that was about it. The second one covered Charlotte in a foot of snow. It was the most snow that I had seen at once in over ten years. It was a beautiful sight. That one was a lot of fun. I took some great photos, we took walks in it, and we went sledding. Sometimes looking at all of those cold weather shots makes me feel cooler on the inside. Then I remembered in December we took a trip to Orlando, Florida. It was 80 degrees while we were there. That’s one thing I love to do at Christmas is wear shorts. I need to be more specific. I like to wear shorts outside when it’s warm. I love it when I can go somewhere, and enjoy it like it is summer time.

I captured these photos while visiting Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. We walked with birds in the aviary. We swam in a heated lazy river. We also snorkeled with sharks and sting rays. The best part of the experience is when we walked with the flamingos. It has been my mom’s dream to meet them up close and personal. These are photos of the flamingos that I captured before the event.
