“Respect is what we owe; love, what we give.” – Philip James Bailey

Getting sunshine on a consistent basis can be tricky this time of the year. I feel like it is always sunny during the week, and cloudy during the weekend. I prefer it to be the opposite. I want to enjoy the sunshine as often as possible. Now with sunset happening later now, I want the sunshine even more so I can enjoy it more after dinner. One of my favorite things to do after dinner is to take a walk around my neighborhood. I know there are many health benefits to walking. However, it greatly helps to clear my head in the evenings. I have some rules while taking my walks. One is no phones. I look at my phone only if someone calls me or texts me who is important. My other rule is I typically only listen to instrumental music. This way I’m not distracted and focus on clearing my head.

Another thing I like to do on my walks is bring my camera with me. This is a great opportunity to practice new skills and reinforce some old ones. I like to stay in practice. When I travel to new places, I want to take the best photos possible. The other day, I practiced with a new filter I purchased. It is called a Starburst Filter from Retropia. It star like flares to the shot using reflected light. I tried it out capturing the sun through the blooming dogwood trees. I have been using their film lens for a while now. This filter is going to add some fun to my photos.
