“Tomorrow is only found in the calendar of fools.” – Og Mandino

Timing in Photography is tricky. It’s hard to get to the right place at the right time. By right time I mean, getting the right light when you want it. For those of you who are not into photography, lighting is everything. It can mean the difference between a great shot, or one that’s totally off. Too much light at once causes a shot to be over exposed. All you see is the light, and can’t see anything else. Not enough light can doom a great shot because you can’t see it. Sometimes a flash helps, but nothing replaces natural light in outdoor photography. Something about having the sun at the right place at the right time is all a good shot needs. Photography is more than just being at the right place and aiming in the right direction. It is about being at that place at the right time.

Timing is also important when capturing shots of the trees blooming in Charlotte, North Carolina in early spring. I try to get out every year and capture photos of the trees blooming. Lucky for me I will have many opportunities to do that between now and then. I captured these shots in 2021 while I was riding my bike around town. I had more time to ride back then because I was working from home more. Here are some favorites I captured that spring.
