A Waterfall in the Middle of Town – Throwback Thursday

“Love, hope, fear, faith – these make humanity; These are its sign and note and character.” – Robert Browning

The only water feature in most major cities is a set of fountains and maybe a river that runs through it. Greenville, South Carolina is unique in the fact that it has a waterfall that runs through the middle of town. The city has a beautiful park surrounding these falls with a pedestrian bridge that gives you an amazing view of the falls. My family and I visited Greenville back in 2018. I forgot what brought us there that day, but we ended our visit to the city with a stroll through the park. Greenville for us is less than a 2-hour drive. The city is known for its local artists, great food, and also this park. The town itself is worth a visit.

I remember when I visited here, I tried to do some long exposure photography of the falls that day. I didn’t realize at the time that it was way too bright, and I didn’t have a filter to pull it off. The only equipment I had that would help that day was a tripod. I am amazed at how much I have learned about photography since that day. The main reason I know more is because I practiced. I try to get out and take photos at least once a week. Next time I stop by Greenville I will have more experience under my belt, and maybe I can get even better photos of the falls.
