Should I Park There?

“Man is what he reads.” – Joseph Brodsky

If you live in a large city, you know that parking can be a challenge. It is even more challenging if you own a truck. The longer I live in Charlotte, the more challenging parking gets. There are times when I have to go somewhere else because there is no place to park. When my wife and I decide on where we are going to eat, parking always plays a part in that decision. If it’s easy to find a space, then great, if not then we look for somewhere else.

What made me think about parking while posting these photos is I’m pretty sure I was parked in the wrong place when I took these photos. Last fall, my son and I took a day trip up to Curtis Creek near Old Fort, North Carolina. What I love about Curtis Creek is the road runs right by the creek, so the best views can be seen from your car. When we parked at this spot, I wasn’t paying attention, but when we returned, I noticed that there was a sign that said “no parking.” While I don’t want to upset anyone in the area, I am glad I was able to capture this long exposure shot while I was there.
