I Get Up Early on Vacation – Throwback Thursday 2020

“I attribute my success to this – I never gave or took any excuse.” – Florence Nightingale

Normally I get up around 5:30 in the morning. I have to be at work pretty early, and my kids have to be on the bus by 6:30. Back in the day, I used to think that getting up at 7:00 was early, wow how times have changed. Today is a teacher work day, and it was my goal to sleep until 7, and in the end, I was up before 6:30.

Not only do I get up early during the week, I get up early on vacation too. I usually wake up a little later, but I am so used to getting up early, that it is only natural for me to wake up close to my normal time. There are advantages to waking up early. One, it’s peaceful. I usually can get up, drink my coffee, and relax. Two, I get to enjoy most of the day. Three, I sometimes am able to catch the sunrise. I got up early on our trip to Fripp Island, South Carolina a few years ago, and was able to see the sunrise over the beach. It was a beautiful moment, and these are some of my favorite photos of all time.
