Birds of Color – Throwback 2019

“Every failure is a step to success.” – William Whewell

I haven’t been to the zoo in a long time. When my kids were younger, we would go often as possible. When the family and I lived in Kentucky, we were about 20 minutes away from the zoo. We would go as often as possible. I loved seeing the animals at the zoo. I always enjoyed watching them and learning more about them.

I took these photos when we visited the Riverbank Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina back in 2019. We were hanging at the lorikeet exhibit. You go inside this enclosed area with some “sugar water” and the birds come to eat it from you. They will land on you and are generally friendly. I had some fun with this first photo. I took the color out of the background so you could focus more on the color of the bird.
