From the Front Yard

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.” – Unknown

I would like to think that I am good at being a yard guy. I cut the grass, weed eat, and take care of a few flowers. I find out that time gets away from me, and I can’t really put the time into that I need to. Most of what I plant is low maintenance with a high reward. For the last few years, I have focused on planting drought ready plants, easy to maintain, and trees. While trees in the beginning require a lot of work, in the end they don’t require a lot of work to maintain.

When we first moved into our house, there were these small azalea bushes in our front yard. Azaleas most of the year look just like any other green bush, but in the spring, they are covered with blooms for a few weeks of the year. They really don’t look like much most of the time, but that one time a year they look great. They also don’t take a lot of work to maintain in my opinion. I might sprinkle some fertilizer on them once a year, trim them up a little bit, but that is about it. I took these shots last weekend. I wanted to capture how good they look at their peak.
