“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.” – Alan Paton

On Friday, the family and I took a day trip down to my mom’s house to help her after the events of Hurricane Helene. Other than being without power since the storm hit, she actually fared fairly well. She did have some downed trees and limbs in one part of her yard that we cleaned up her for, and we got her set up with a generator so she could at least have some power. The power company told her it would be the end of next week. Line crews are working around the clock in her neighborhood to get power restored. Before we left town, I drove around her neighborhood seeing the damage left behind by the storm.

The reason why I am posting these photos is to show that several regions in the southeast still need our help. The worst hit, was Western North Carolina, but parts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee are still recovering. God’s Pit Crew is delivering emergency supplies to all of these hard-hit regions. Their blessing buckets contain everything to support with hygiene to emergency meals. If you are looking for a way to help, supporting this organization is a great way to start. Check out their Instagram page to see how you can contribute. https://www.instagram.com/godspitcrew/?hl=en

The video below is what the storm looked like in my neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina.
