Why Do I Take Photos All the Time?

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.” – George Bernard Shaw

Any time I am out on my bike, walking around town, and just exploring different parts of Charlotte, I have my camera with me. I’m sure people see me around town, and think that I am some kind of odd tourist. The odd part is probably true, but I am not a tourist to Charlotte, North Carolina. I was born here in the 80’s, and I have lived here since 2012. The reason why I walk around with my camera all the time is for two reasons. One, I enjoy photography. I enjoy taking photos and capturing the moment I am in with my camera. The second reason is I like to practice. Most of the places I see in Charlotte, I will see again. If I take a bad photo, there will be another opportunity to capture it again. If I am visiting somewhere new, that might be the only chance I have to capture it, so I practice to be ready for those moments.

I captured these photos last summer while riding my bike through Uptown Charlotte. I decided to go a slightly different route one day, and I hung out over at Romare Bearden Park. The main attraction of the park is a water feature that has multi-colored lights that glow at night.

Check out this video I made of this fountain a while back.
