“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” – Abraham Lincoln

When I visit new places, I like to see as much as possible. However, when I am only stopping there for the day it is difficult to do so. One thing I have realized over the years is that most places you can’t see everything in a day. I used to try and rush through and see as much as I can. In the end I don’t really get to enjoy it as much because I’m too busy rushing. Now when I visit somewhere, I at least try to visit one coffee shop and sit for a while. This way I can take a moment and appreciate where I am.

On winter break the family and I took an 11-day cruise through the Caribbean. One of the places we visited was Willemstad, Curaçao. Willemstad is a beautiful city with a rich history. We decided to take a tour of the city. We visited a set of caves outside of the city, and afterwards took a walking tour of it. We walked around different parts of the city observing many of its different murals.

Same trip, different moment. This was the sunrise I saw on New Year’s Morning.
