Off At Sunset

“You exist only in what you do.” – Federico Fellini

In photography, timing can be everything. The type and amount of light you get depends on the time of day you are out there. It also depends on what you want to photograph. If you are like me and love a good sunrise, you should be outside at the perfect moment. If you enjoy a sunset, be ready too at the right time. When photographing people, it is essential to be out an hour before sunset. This time allows you to capture that critical blue hour. It ensures you capture people in the right light. When I photograph landscapes, I go out in the middle of the day. The light during this time fills the area up perfectly. Timing can either make or break a photo.

On the first day of our cruise last winter, I watched one of the best sunsets. It was one of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen. I was able to capture these photos right before we went to our first dinner on the ship. If you look towards the right of all the photos you can see the city of Tampa in the background.

Check out this video of a sunrise.
