“Childhood is a short season.” – Helen Hayes

How often do you look at old photos on your phone or computer? I look back more frequently than I thought I did. I look back at photos I had previously taken with my camera at least once a week. I try to do a post where I show photos that I had shared before. I take advantage of all the photos I have taken. This helps me remember the moments when I visited somewhere. I also have a private social media account on Facebook. I have posted photos of family and friends from the past there. Every day, Facebook does an ‘on this day’ post for me. This way, I can look back on what we did that day. I have found that photography is a great way to be reminded of the different seasons of my life. That has helped me see how much I have grown as a person. My advice to you is to keep snapping those photos either with your camera or your phone. Capture those memories so you can look back on them in the future.

When I look back at these photos several memories come to mind. Back in 2023, our kids were taking a youth trip with our church for a few days. So my wife arranged for us to stay at a bed and breakfast in Durham, North Carolina. What I didn’t realize until I got there is that Durham has a pretty good food scene. We ate our way through town. We also took time and explored this park near the bed and breakfast. We hiked at West Point by Eno. The Eno River runs through the park. We saw a photography museum, a working mill, a waterfall, and the Eno River. One thing I remember from visiting this park is that it had a working mill powered by a waterwheel. That morning, it wasn’t working, and I remember watching the staff try and get it to work. They did eventually get it working. It’s always interesting what we remember when we visit different places.

Something else I saw while visiting Durham was this bridge that I learned about during Covid. We all remember those moments when we were board at house and needed something to do. I saw this on my YouTube feed, and was hooked. Check out the video I made about it below.
The quote is so true and pictures sure help to keep those memories alive. Your waterfall pics are wonderful.
