Camden Commons

“I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me.” – Dudley Field Malone

Summer is here, and that means summer pop up events all over the city. From festivals to celebrations, you never know what Charlotte has showing on the weekend. I usually ride my bike to these events, that way I don’t have to deal with any of the traffic. The last one I checked out was the Camden Commons event in the Southend Neighborhood in Charlotte. I wasn’t planning on going to it. It happened to be going on while I was taking one of my weekend bike rides. I found a spot to lock my bike up. Then I walked around to check out the different shops. I also listened to the live band playing.

This year, one of my goals is to capture photos of the different people I see around Charlotte. While I have seen most of Uptown Charlotte, there are always different people hanging out. Street photography always has something new. Some are together, some are alone. Some are happy, while others are content. Some have a destination in mind, and others are just out enjoying the day. I try to be as sneaky as I can. However, I’m walking around with a camera held against my face with a giant lens attached. I’m not sure how sneaky I actually am, but maybe they don’t notice that much. I captured this set while I was walking around Camden Commons.
