Black and White

“What happens is not as important as how you react to what happens.” – Ellen Glasgow

I love black and white photography. I know some people prefer color because you see more. For me, I feel like you see more with photos that are in black and white. To me, color can sometimes be distracting. With the color of a photo removed, many of the details that are missed show up more. A detail or object is often hidden in the background when in color. However, it comes out clearly in black and white.

Camp North End is a very colorful place. Just about every outside wall there is covered in murals. Camp North End is located just north of Uptown Charlotte. I captured these photos last July. My wife and I were taking pictures at Camp North End in Charlotte, North Carolina. Camp North End has great coffee shops, retail, and, awesome murals around it. We captured some photos using my tripod with each other, and I captured photos of the murals as well. Here are some photos that I captured that turned out really good in black and white. Even in a colorful place like this, taking out the color brings out its true beauty.
