“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” – Theodore Roosevelt”

We have goals that we want to achieve. I believe most people want to be successful, but too often don’t know where to start. The best place to start is where you are. I remember when I was first learning photography. All I had was a used camera I picked up from a pawn shop. I captured some amazing photos with that camera. From the Mayan temples in Mexico to the beautiful landscape of the Appalachian Mountains. I also captured some beautiful scenes in my hometown of Uptown Charlotte. I didn’t have to be at some far off place to take great photos. I just had have my camera with me to practice. If I didn’t have my camera, I used my phone or GoPro. Success doesn’t happen when you achieve your dreams, success happens during the journey.

The journey to success can start at any time. For me, it is usually first thing in the morning. My mornings start with me writing and reflecting while my kids get ready to catch the bus at 6 am. Sometimes success starts while I am standing outside on the deck of the cruise ship we are on. I captured these photos when we visited Aruba last winter. I woke up early to catch the sunrise, but I had just missed it. Even though I missed the sunrise, I still took the opportunity to capture these great photos.
