“The quality, not the longevity, of one’s life is what is important.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

It seems like the older I get the fewer things I want. I don’t want more stuff, but the things I do want, I want them to last. When the holidays come up, I always have a hard time thinking of what I want. The reason is, what I usually want is a few things, but they are expensive. This is why I typically get gift cards. From camera equipment to clothes, the cheap stuff doesn’t do it for me anymore. I think because often times stuff I don’t need ends up being clutter. Eventually, I just throw it away. Our life should operate the same way. We should seek to live a high quality of life. We should take care of our health. We should also make sure we live a life that has a positive impact on our community. We don’t want to reach the end of our life and wish for more time. We should focus on the quality of it. We focus on the quality by focusing on what matters most, faith, family, health, and impact.

One way that my family and I try to get the most out of life is to travel. Last summer we traveled to Alaska. We took an 11 day cruise around the Inside Passage. One of our stops was the Hubbard Glacier. We didn’t walk on it, but we enjoyed the most incredible views ever. I spent most of the time we were there on the balcony. I had my camera in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. These shots I captured after we passed the glacier. The views were amazing the entire day. From waterfalls in the distance to trees hiding in the fog, there was not shortage of amazing on this day.
I agree with you completely. 😉
