“One forgives to the degree that one loves.” – Francois de La Rochefoucauld

Good timing is something we all want. We want to get to the coffee shop at the right time, so we don’t have to wait in line. When I take my kids to school, I try to arrive during the optimal time. This way, I don’t have to wait long in the carpool line. Whenever I cook steak, I have to pull it off the grill at just the right time. If I take it off too soon, then it’s raw. If I wait too late then it is overcooked and dry. Good timing is something we go for in a lot areas of our life. From the small things to the big things, we want the best timing. The biggest fear people my age have is peaking too early. We wonder if we already hit the highest point in our life. Then it just gets worse from there. That only happens if we allow it to happen. Good timing happens we make an effort to time it right.

Good timing in photography is important. It can be the difference between a good shot and a bad shot. Every photographer wants to capture a moment at just the right time. The Orca’s at Seaworld don’t really stand still. The place where they preform is called the Orca Stadium, and that place was packed when we went. In fact, SeaWorld was full of people the day we went. We sat in an area called the splash zone. I’m sure that meant there was a chance that you could get wet. I got a little nervous with having my camera out, but I wanted to get some good shots. I had my bag ready. I could put it back in a hurry. That was in case the splash zone lived up to its name. Fortunately, it didn’t. I was able to capture some great shots of the Orca’s. They performed in front of us.
