“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” – Warren Buffett

Too often in our society today, we rarely think about the future. Everything we do is for our immediate needs. We also want everything instantly. If there is a problem, we want it fixed instantly. We think that if something we do causes a problem, then we shouldn’t worry about it today. We get what we want today, and let tomorrow be a problem. We can’t only think about the immediate results, but also the long-term impacts. It’s like posting something inappropriate on social media. Sure, it was cool at the time, but when a potential employer sees it in the future, they might not like it. When I post, I try to write about things that my 10-years-from-now self would not be embarrassed to see. Don’t think only about the immediate impact, but think about the future as well.

During spring break, my family and I took a trip around Northeast Georgia. This was a familiar place for us because my wife and I graduated from college in this region. Going back to this area filled us with lots of memories. We loved coming back here. One of our favorite areas to visit was Tallulah Gorge. We didn’t visit the park often because we were poor college students. We typically checked out the gorge from free view areas. One of our favorite viewing areas had a small general store where we would sit on the porch and drink a Coke from a glass bottle. It was closed the last time we went, and we were glad to see it open again. These shots are from one of the view areas near the power company. These are just a few of the great shots I captured of this area.
