When I first read the quote above, it didn’t make any sense to me. What is he talking about? However, as I thought about it, I realized the idea he was showing us is that if you love yourself more than others, you are blind to the world around you. There is nothing wrong with caring about yourself, but when you consistently prioritize yourself over others, you can’t be aware of those who need support. As a society, we have to stop focusing on ourselves and show concern for others.
I stumbled onto the flowers while I was riding my bike through First Ward Park in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. First Ward Park features a large field, great water features, and several places to exercise. This is a great park to hang out at while in Uptown.
