“Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.” – Peter Drucker

As a teacher, I hear all the time about how everyone wants to fix the American education system. People tell us what schools should actually be doing, and that we are all doing it wrong. While the education system is in desperate need of reform, what it needs more than that is follow-through. All the time we hear about great ideas, but we never see anyone try to implement them. Everyone has an idea that they want someone else to execute. A great idea only works if someone puts in the work behind it. If you want to see things improve in schools, then you need to find ways to support them.

When it comes to photography, everyone thinks the finished product is just a snap away. But for many of us who want to put out the best images possible, more work is done behind the computer screen than behind the lens. Being behind the lens is step one, and an important one. The work afterwards is what brings a great image to life. One of my favorite places to visit for capturing photos was Paris, France. My wife and I had been wanting to go to Paris for a long time (her more than me). When we saw that our cruise in Europe would be stopping near Paris, we took advantage and made sure we made it the best day possible. We booked a lunch cruise along the Seine River. After we had lunch, I stood outside on the back deck and took as many photos as I possibly could. This was a nice opportunity to take photos while traveling. Here are a few shots I captured along the river.
