When we look at someone’s biography, it always focuses on the highlights. Most times when we read about someone the hardships are regulated to a couple of sentences. The rest of the story focuses on their victories. Took often what is missed is the day to day. It’s hard to portray a day to day and make an engaging story. The goal of most authors is to sell books. If they don’t sell books, they don’t make any money. I get why you would want to focus on the highlights. The day to day is boring. But the day to day is what makes us successful. Too often we think that it’s the one great idea that makes someone successful. That one idea happens because of the day to day efforts. Our day to day is what defines us. To grow as a person, look at your day to day to see where you can improve.
I captured these photos back in 2022 when the family and I visited Linville Falls. Linville Falls is located in the North Carolina mountains. It’s free to visit, you just have to drive their. They feature a upper and lower falls. The upper falls is a short hike away from the parking lot. To see the lower falls is a bit of hike. You can either hike downhill or uphill. The uphill route is shorter, so I went that way. Here are a few of my favorite photos from that visit.
