Seeing the Streets

“The art of a people is a true mirror to their minds.” – Jawaharlal Nehru

Photography is art. At least, in my opinion, it is. There is more to taking a great photo than just pointing and shooting a camera at something. It’s more than that. It is getting the right perspective to show what’s most important. Framing the photo right goes a long way. For me, the best type of photography is taking something normal and mundane and turning it into a great photo. A good capture can be taking a normal moment and making it look magical. A great photo can also capture a moment that you want to remember forever. From a great sunrise to seeing something spectacular, a great photo can preserve that moment. Photography shows what we notice, and we capture moments that stick out to us.

I am always practicing my photography when I get a chance. I often take my camera with me when I go on walks around my neighborhood. I wanted to share a combination of photos with you in this post. When I take my walks, I am either capturing the people I see or a great sunset. There are some pretty great sunsets in my neighborhood. I just have to get the angle just right in order to capture its full beauty. I also enjoy street photography. I never know who I will see while I am out and about. Often, when I capture these photos, I wonder what kind of stories I could tell about the subjects of them. What is going on in their minds, how are they feeling, and where are they going is what I think about.
