See the Rainbow

“God never made a promise that was too good to be true.” – Dwight L. Moody

I take a lot of photos. Some turn out great, but most of them are good. The reason why I take so many is because you never know what gems might come out of them. There are times I snap a photo, and I don’t even realize how good it is at the time. Photography is all about good timing and location. Being at the right place at the right time is a combination of skill and luck. Sometimes I just happen to be at the right place at the right time, and I didn’t even plan to be there. Getting to the right place sometimes requires me to climb a little bit, go off the path, but in the end the shot was worth it.

A trip to Northeast Georgia isn’t complete without a visit to Toccoa Falls. Toccoa Falls is known as a hidden gem in Georgia. It’s one of the easiest waterfalls to access in the southeastern United States. It is located in Toccoa, Georgia, on the campus of Toccoa Falls College. At 186 feet, it is 25 feet taller than Niagara Falls. The falls are magnificent and a must-see when you travel through Georgia. It’s a short walk to the base of the falls. This waterfall is located on the campus from which I graduated college. I took a ton of photos when we visited the college that day. My son called me over to this section of the falls to see it from a different angle. While we were looking at that angle we could see a rainbow forming at the base of the falls. I wasn’t sure if my camera would capture the rainbow, and I took a few shots. To my surprise, the rainbow came in perfectly. As a Christian, a rainbow is a reminder of God’s promises.
