“We love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

I take a lot of pictures. I try to share everything I post, but it’s hard to share thousands of photos at once. I don’t want to post photos just to post them; I like to share the story behind them. For me, photography is more than just snapping photos; there is a story behind it. Sometimes I post about what happened when the photo was taken. It’s fun to look back and remember what happened that day. Some of the photos that I take while I am out on a walk remind me of when I shared the walk with someone. Photos of the sunsets I have taken on different cruises remind me of the feeling of peace I had that day. Photos of places that I have visited more than once flood me with memories of the times I had spent there with my family. To me, photography is more than taking photos; it is capturing memories.

Good timing in photography is important. It can be the difference between a good shot and a bad shot. Every photographer wants to capture a moment at just the right time. The orcas at SeaWorld don’t really stand still. The place where they perform is called the Orca Stadium, and that place was packed when we went. In fact, SeaWorld was full of people the day we went. We sat in an area called the splash zone. I’m sure that meant there was a chance that you could get wet. I got a little nervous about having my camera out, but I wanted to get some good shots. I had my bag ready. I could put it back in a hurry. That was in case the splash zone lived up to its name. Fortunately, it didn’t. I was able to capture some great shots of the orcas. They performed in front of us.

A fun feature of Instagram is you can simulate the Orca diving by holding the three dots below the photos. Check the post below to see for yourself.
