Sometimes We Don’t Want It

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” – Frederick Douglass

Have you every recieved an email about an opportunity, and felt like you didn’t want this? This happened to me yesterday. Someone from my work sent me an email about something that I think would be a great idea for my school, but I’m sure if I want to do it. It’s a great idea, but it means I have to give up my planning time on Friday. That is the part I am uncertain about. I see how this can help the greater good of the school I work at, but at the same time, I’m tired at the end of the day. There is nothing wrong with thinking that we don’t want something. We just have to process why we don’t want it.

The family and I took a trip to Northeast Georgia during spring break. We spent most of our time in Helen, Georgia. We walked around the main strip the day before, and the next day we took a trip to Tallulah Gorge. On the way to the gorge we stopped some fun places. One of the first places we stopped was the Nora Mill Granary Grist Mill. Established in 1876 in Helen, Georgia, the Nora Mill Granary is a historic, water-powered grist mill on the Chattahoochee River that produces stone-ground grits, cornmeal, and flour using 1,500-pound French Burr Mill Stones. You can watch the granary in action while you are at the store. You can the Chattahoochee River from the back porch of the store. Here are the photos that I captured of it from the back of the store.
