“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

I am writing this post the day after I took my first foreign train ride in another country without the use of a tour guide or plan. During the first week of July, my wife and I took a cruise around Europe. The focus of the trip was the British Isles with the last stop in Paris. Typically on a cruise when we don’t have a shore excursion planned, we usually hang out around the port. But when we arrived in Scotland, we decided to take a different approach. We talked to the information people at the port, got some information about the train, and then we took the train to Edinburgh to see the castle and the sights there. Sometimes you have to be a little brave to see a little more.

One trip that wasn’t so new for us was when we took a trip to Florida after Christmas. The first day we were there, we spent the day walking with the flamingos, swimming in the lazy river, and snorkeling with the stingrays. After that, we spent the day at SeaWorld. We walked about the park. We watched the dolphins and the orcas perform. We went through the aquarium, and almost froze while visiting the penguins. These shots are of the flamingos they had at the park. We didn’t walk with them, but we enjoyed hanging out with them for a moment.
