People are responsible for their own decisions. This is a fact. We don’t choose how people act. However, we do have an obligation to at least attempt to be decent people in front of others. For example, when things don’t go our way at a restaurant, before we respond with anger, we need to see what happened first. We can be angry at the server all we want, but it might not be their fault. Also, do they try to fix it? Too often, we think the appropriate response is to respond with anger, but is that really necessary? We have to remember who is watching us when we do these things. As a teacher, too often I see students mimic the behavior of the adults they are with. We need to make sure we are setting the best example for those who are watching. And if we go to a restaurant that doesn’t work out the way we want it to, the best way to protest is by not spending money there anymore. I have a few places I refuse to eat at in my area because I’ve been a few times, and I didn’t get what I expected. Everyone is an example to someone whether we like it or not. Let’s try to be the best example we can.
When I post things online, I try to be as positive as possible. The reason is that I never know who is watching. I could set my social media to private all I want, but my information could still leak because all it takes is one screenshot. I am always thoughtful about what I post, share, or like. This is why some might look at my social media page and think that it is boring. For me, what I post is usually photos or videos of the amazing places I have visited. These photos were taken last year when I visited the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska. I saw some of the most amazing views from my balcony room that day. The ship pulled up close to the glacier, and I was able to snap some amazing shots.
