The Inside

There are two perspectives we have about someone: the inside and the outside. The outside is the highlight reel. You see how that person has been successful (or not successful) over the years. What we primarily see are their accomplishments. When we look on the inside, we see the struggles that person had to get there, and what happened to them from one highlight to another. I read a book earlier this year about the journey of Lewis and Clark. When we think of those two, we only think about how they made it to the Pacific Ocean through the mainland of the United States. The book I read did a good job of showing what they went through on the journey. The author didn’t spend a lot of time on when they were at the Pacific Ocean, but instead focused on the journey they went through to get there. There is more to someone than just their highlight reel.

When we think of castles, we typically think of how they look on the outside. Dunrobin Castle in Scotland looks amazing on the outside, but the inside was cool to see too. While we were on our trip to Europe, we wanted to see some old castles. We booked a trip to take a short bus ride from our cruise ship to see Dunrobin Castle. Everything inside the castle has been well preserved. One thing we were amazed with was how many fireplaces there were inside the castle. It seemed like there were two in every room. These are a few of the photos I captured while touring the inside of the castle.
