Don’t Let Someone Block Your Shine

“Happiness is the natural flower of duty.” – Phillips Brooks

There are people out there who try to block you from seeing a great view. Sometimes it’s on purpose, and other times it’s not. This happens to me often. I’ll be honest with you; I am not your typical elementary school teacher. I teach with my own style, blending in my sense of humor and passion for children learning. I have learned over the last few years to use my strengths to my advantage and try not to be someone who I am not. That means sometimes people are in shock that I am good at what I do. That might mean they try to hide my success because they have a hard time believing it. So, what I have learned over the last few years is that I need to show off my accomplishments more. When I do that, it allows my shine to not be blocked.

Sometimes we have to prioritize our peace. We cannot expect other people to do it for us. For me, I handle my peace by finding time to get away and relax. For me, it’s riding my bike around Charlotte and taking photos. I took these photos while I was at Marshall Park in Uptown Charlotte. It’s one of my favorite parks to visit. It’s not too far from the house. It has a great view of the city.
