“The breaking of a wave cannot explain the whole sea.” – Vladimir Nabokov

A couple of years ago, I was riding my bike through Uptown Charlotte. Whenever I rode my bike, I always brought my camera with me to capture photos of anything I found along the way. After doing this for a few years, I realized I had taken multiple photos of the same thing. I wanted to keep practicing my photography, but there are only so many angles of the same thing that I can capture. So, I was sitting on a bench one day taking a break and wondering what I could photograph that day. Then I just started aiming my camera at the people walking by. Some of the photos turned out pretty cool. So that’s when I started getting into street photography and capturing photos of strangers that I see on the street. Most don’t notice me, and some who do don’t mind. Some do mind, and I have captured some mean looks in my direction over the years. It is fun just to capture the different people that I see.

Since I have been practicing street photography in Charlotte, I have been able to capture photos of people I see in other places too. When I visited Victoria, Canada, I captured as many photos as I could that day. We walked just about the entire city, checking out the different sites and enjoying our time there. We saw the parliament building, a nice park, totem poles, and several other historic sights. I captured these photos while walking around town of the different people I saw while I was there.
