“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” – Thomas A. Edison

The second photo of this post is kind of funny to me, not just because of the way it looks, but because of the memories it brings up. When I first became a dad, there were some things that I enjoyed doing, and other things not so much. One thing I didn’t enjoy doing was changing diapers. Let’s be honest, who actually enjoys changing a stinky diaper? I doubt anyone does. Back in the day, diaper changing stations in men’s restrooms were rare, and family bathrooms had just started to become a thing. Typically, when we were out in public, my wife had to be the one to change our son’s diaper. Sometimes, when we would go somewhere, I would claim there wasn’t any place to change a baby in the men’s room. It’s not like my wife could check in there to see if there was one. I usually did this so I didn’t have to worry about anyone’s diapers. Was that wrong of me? Yes. She did finally get wise to my ways and would, on occasion, ask the people who worked at the stores we would visit if there was a changing table in the men’s room. It only got me so far.

It’s funny how random things bring up memories like that. This memory came to me while we were walking around Pike Place Market. We had just finished our 11-day cruise around the Inside Passage of Alaska and parts of Canada. Once we got off the ship, we dropped off our bags at the hotel we were staying at, and since our room wasn’t ready, we explored Seattle some. Pike Place was an amazing place to see, from random eclectic shops to fun bookstores. Here are a few of the black and white shots I captured while I was there. I used my lens from @retropiacam to capture this photo. To me, it really brought out the neon lights in the background and captured the restroom photo great too.
