“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” – Socrates

When I am traveling anywhere something I don’t like to do is ask for directions. I hate asking people where to go. It doesn’t matter if I am driving somewhere, or walking around the mall. For some reason, I just prefer to find something myself. Before the days of Google Maps, this would get me into a bind. Even with Google Maps, I still get lost sometimes. I would prefer to look at map instead of asking someone where to go. I was like this when I started teaching. I thought I had all of the answers, and that didn’t go well for me. What helped me become better was I started to ask and learn from those who had been teaching successfully for years. In those moments, I learned it’s okay not know the answer or what to do. It helps when we know where to look.

When we first arrived in Stornoway, Scotland, I had no idea what I would see. We had a busy day planned for us, and I wanted to be able to get in as much as possible. These might have been some of the best views I saw from the ship while it was in port. Most of our ports were located at commercial ports, so the views were not so good. These views at the Stornoway port were amazing. We spent the morning wondering around the town, checking out the different shops, looking at the older buildings, and enjoying the great views.
