Sights on the River

“You get educated by traveling.” – Solange Knowles

Typically, when we take a road trip as a family, I am the one driving. It doesn’t matter if the distance is long or short; I am usually the one behind the wheel. Don’t get me wrong, I like driving. I usually set myself up right with a good cup of coffee, some good music, and planned stops along the way. The only downside about driving is that if I see something along the way, I can’t take a photo of it. If I do that, I might cause an accident. There are some trips where I see photo-worthy moments while going down the road, and I have to miss them. I guess it is better to get us somewhere safely than it is for me to get that one photo.

Since I am usually the one driving on trips, I don’t mind flying. I know some people are not fans, but it’s not so bad for me. I look at it as an opportunity to read a book and watch a movie while going somewhere. The best part is sometimes someone even brings you a snack while you are in the air. We did a similar type of trip while we were in Paris. My wife and I have been wanting to go to Paris for a long time (her more than me). When we saw that our cruise in Europe would be stopping near Paris, we took advantage and made sure we made it the best day possible. We booked a lunch cruise along the Seine River. After we had lunch, I stood outside on the back deck and took as many photos as I possibly could. This was a nice opportunity to take photos while traveling somewhere. Here are a few shots I captured along the river.
