The Falconry

“The time is always right to do what is right.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

I have always been a big fan of zoos. Even though I haven’t been to a zoo in a few years, I have always enjoyed them. Any time I can observe animals is a fun experience for me. While we were visiting Dunrobin Castle in Scotland, I came across a cool section called the falconry. Falconry is the ancient sport and practice of training and flying birds of prey to hunt wild game in their natural habitat. I didn’t get to see the birds in action, but I did enjoy watching them hang out for everyone to see. Once I stumbled upon this great section, I captured some shots of these magnificent birds of prey.

During the summer, I had the opportunity to tour Dunrobin Castle in Scotland. I wonder how the people in the area viewed those who lived in and visited the castle. I wonder how the visitors of the castle back when people lived there viewed those who resided in it. Understanding those perspectives gives us a complete history of the area. While I visited, I tried to learn a little bit about the castle’s history and capture as many photos as possible.
