The Annual Blooms on the Trail

“An understanding of the natural world and what’s in it is a source of not only a great curiosity but great fulfilment.” ― Sir David Attenborough

When something only happens once a year, we tend to appreciate it more. If it happened everyday, then it would just be part of our normal lives. For instance, years ago my son and I were checking out some Mayan ruins in Mexico. We heard something in the trees, and it turns out it was a small monkey. I had never seen a monkey outside of a zoo before. The guide who was with us, told me that he sees them all the time. He compared them to squirrel shere in United States. He sees monkeys all the time, so they are not a big deal to him, but for me who hadn’t seen one before it was. That’s why we can can’t have Christmas everyday, we wouldn’t appreciate it, and I would go broke.

One thing that happens once a year here in Charlotte, North Carolina is the trees bloom all over town. I try to capture as many photos of them as I can because it only happens once a year. I took these photos a few weeks ago while I was riding my bike down the rail trail in that goes to Uptown.
