“We have all the light we need, we just need to put it in practice.” – Albert Pike

This always happens to me right before a holiday break at work. I don’t know what to write about. There are mornings when I literally stare at a blank screen. I have no idea what the first word should be that I should type. I usually know what I am going to write about before I get on my computer. This time of year, my mind cannot think of anything. I think it’s because I’m tired. I know that I have had less energy than usual. It’s been a long winter, from dealing with various storms to trying to stay on top of everything at work. I am now at this point where my brain is just tired and needs a break. Fortunately, I have a break coming up soon.

One thing that I know to write about is some of the photos I have captured lately. While I haven’t been to any exotic locations, I have been practicing around the neighborhood. Using my camera during my walks is a great opportunity to practice new skills and reinforce some old ones. I like to stay in practice. When I travel to new places, I want to take the best photos possible. The other day, I practiced with a new filter I purchased. It is called a Starburst Filter from @retropiacam . It adds star-like flares to the shot using reflected light. I tried it out, capturing the sun through the blooming dogwood trees. I have been using their film lens for a while now. This filter is going to add some fun to my photos. I captured these photos during various times of the day while I am out.

Interesting and nice results. It is always fun to work on something different. 😊
