Better Rain than Sunshine

“Our work is the presentation of our capabilities.” – Edward Gibbon

The weather can make or break a vacation. We have been fortunate to have had some of the best weather ever when we have traveled, and the worst at the same time. During our cruise in Alaska, there was a tsunami warning while we were at sea. There was a massive earthquake off the coast of Russia earlier that day while we were out at sea. Fortunately, we were fine. The waves were rough that evening. One time, I was setting up our camper in the pouring rain. The whole campsite was muddy. It was insane, but we still had a great time. We could have easily been angry during all of these events while we were traveling. Our attitude is what determines how it goes more than the weather.

A few years ago, the family and I took a cruise to Nassau. While we were boarding the ship, we saw the weather, and it was clear that it was going to rain the entire time. When we planned our shore excursion, we made sure we would be on a covered bus the entire time. We took a tour of the island and checked out all of the different sights and places of interest. It did rain most of the time we were out, but with the rain, I was able to capture some awesome shots of different parts of the island.
