“Set your goals high, and don’t stop till you get there.” – Bo Jackson

The end of the school year is close for me. I have about two weeks left with my 5th graders. This is the time of year when I start to see all of my hard work pay off. For many of the students I teach, it takes all year for them to reach their goals. We work together all year, and now we are starting to see the results of the work they are doing. For me as a teacher, it’s hard to focus on my goals in September when May seems so far away. I stayed focused, and now I am starting to see how that focus is paying off. When it comes to our goals, the end might seem far away, but that doesn’t mean we don’t go for it.

During spring break, my family and I took a trip up to Northeast Georgia. This is an area familiar to my wife and me because we both graduated from college in this area. During the weekends, we would spend a lot of time exploring the area. What I enjoyed about this trip was that we were able to make new memories with my kids now that they are older. Our first stop was where we went to college, Toccoa Falls College. The college is known for the waterfall that is on campus. The falls are actually higher than Niagara, but don’t have as large a water source feeding them. For the photos in this post, I used my lens from Retropia. I love this lens because it is lightweight. This makes it perfect to bring with me while on a walk. I also love that it is made from recycled disposable camera lenses. When I capture photos with it, it looks like the shot was captured with a film camera. It has various imperfections in the shot that give it a retro look. I also like how the lens doesn’t need to be focused. Just like an old-school disposable camera, all you have to do is point and shoot.
