“Happiness is a direction, not a place.” – Sydney J. Harris

Ten months can be a long time. That is how long a typical school year lasts. During that time I am working with one group of students on a few goals. Evaluating our progress with students takes time. We really won’t know the full extent of progress until the end of the year. Most of the progress they make in a day is small and sometimes hard to see. It’s easy to feel like there is no purpose because it has been a long time. In those moments where we don’t feel purpose, we have to work with. When it seems like there is no purpose, we have to carry ourselves like we have purpose.

One of my favorite things to do is to ride my bike around Charlotte. The best place to ride is along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. While I was riding out there, I stopped at the Robert Haywood Morrison Gardens. The flowers there were in full bloom when I visited. I stopped here for some photos and to take a water break before I headed back home.
